Testimonials, Feedback, stories, and comments from riders using GravityDropper!!!
The Gravitydropper is a perfect after-market accessory for any mountain biker with one click as easy as shifting a gear, your seat drops out of your way or back into place. No more compromising situations (which we all encounter many times on every single ride), where the seat is too high or too low. I love it! -I have been riding the post for 2 months now and I can safely say that it is the best upgrade I have done to my trail bike in 2 years. The 3" adjustment is perfect for steep climbing and descending. This post is the new Downieville secret weapon or as I call it the Lopes crusher. This is no informercial, it's the real deal. It really works.. Mark Weir , Pro (USA)
"Hey there, Yes I have had a run with the seat pole...... I am truly amazed how easy it all works. At first I thought the difference in height would not be enough but it surely does the job... You are going to make a lot of people happy with this seat pole, makes riding that much more fun especially on a cross country / free-ride bike. Thanks again for sending it over, I am stoked that I have one. Cheers", Wade Bootes, (Pro) Australia I recently used the gravity dropper at my top ten finish in the 24 Hours Of Adrenalin Solo World Championships in Whistler BC. Amazing! As the night goes on and you begin to get careless it was nice to instantly be able to drop the seat in tight corners or on narly decents. What really helped out was the ability for me to forget the pain in my legs and play with my cool seatpost! Other rides thought I was totally teched out! I cannot imagine another 24 hour race without the dropper, it guarantees me a safe smooth ride to a top finish! Sweet!- Heather Mosley - ranked 9th pro elite female in the world, 1st east coast pro elite female, 24 hour solo mounatin biking, Specialized Sponsored (Pic of Heather Mosley bike for 2005 -I like the product. The post really helped me win the Norba National Championship Series in Pro Super D. The post is a must in Super D. , Michael Valach, (Pro) USA
How the #%&$ did I survive without this post for so long? Have had it a few weeks and it has already opened new doors to my off-road regimen. It actually adds a new element to each ride: improved cornering, added confidence on descents, more versatility. Because the transition between heights is so carefree and rapid, I find myself adjusting extremely often which has aided my training. I can maintain my power output and HR throughout my entire ride; previously my pace may have been interrupted by necessary seat adjustments based on terrain. I expect my friends will be visiting gravitydropper.com soon. Thanks again, Michael Semotuk,MN
This is by far the most amazing bike component I ever bought. I have one on each of my x-country bikes and its just unbelievable. Great for tall riders like me. Rene Hoepelman, California
One simple upgrade converted my ride into virtually 2 bikes. With the seatpost up it is in XC mode and with the post in the down position it is literally transformed into a descending hardcore trailbike! No hassle with wrenches or slipping quick releases, all done in a moments notice. I find myself changing the post height 15- 30 times on every ride now. It's so simple and brings a new level of enjoyment to every ride. And afterall, the reason we ride is to have fun. I also want to mention the extraordinary level of customer service Gravitydropper gives. This is a rare commodity as of late. Dr. Matt French, Arizona
I already got the post installed and it certainly works! My favourite singletrack was waiting for my first agressive riding on gravity dropper. Wow! Where are the technical sections? My stumpjumper became a freeride on downhills and still climbs as well as ever. I can't believe someone finally made the post I always dream about. I´m sure I´m riding the best seatpost in the world, as I was thinking this week end while waiting for my riding partner after a technical downhill section, not my fault if he doesn´t ride the dropper. Gonzalo Vazquez (Spain)
-I'm absolutely blown away! It's incredible and I love it! A group of us went out in the Santa Monica mountains for a great cross country ride. The route we took had a lot of climbs and curvy downhills. I was raising and slamming the seat non-stop. I was amazed at my riding and how I could charge the downhills! As soon as my fiancee's Santa Cruz Blur frame comes in for her build up, you will definitely see another order from us! Can I say more? Great great product! My bike is a Titus with FSA carbon cranks, Fox float front and rea, rear lockout, Mavic Cross Max disks, XTR, etc. If I was ever limited on what I could do to a bike to make it perform better, putting a GravityDropper on it would be the FIRST thing I'd buy before anything else! Tom Rose, California
I think that with good marketing, your product will be (should be) a huge success... probably the best upgrade I have had for the past 5 years, and I guess I have had them all. But still just can't explain to my girlfriend why my seatpost cost the same as her whole bike...rehJ! Aki Rask, Finland
I finally got a chance to hit the trail this weekend, and your seatpost worked great. It is so nice to be able to quickly raise and lower the seat for all the smaller uphills and downhills that I would normally not take the time to stop and manually adjust the seat height for. It is a great product. Ray Fields, California
Alfonso BatallaBilbao, in the North of SPAIN
It is amazing how it changed my mind from something I didn't need to....something that gets a lot of action on every ride. This product is way more valuable than my old suspension post it has replaced. Not only from a speed and comfort angle but also from a speed and safety standpoint. The Gravitydropper really lets me be myself without limits. Gets the seat out of the way to allow me to go where I want in the position I need to be. I am a local XC expert that has decreased my descending times by 30% and with much more confidence. I urge every rider I know to try it. -The Gravitydropper seatpost has greatly improved my riding ability. It allows me to comfortably get way behind my seat on descents. Having the seat down and out of the way allows me to manouver my bike more easily, which gives me more confidence. My other favorite aspect of the seatpost is that I'm not committed to an up or down postition. Having the freedom and ease to change the position on the fly allows me to have the seat in the position I want it to be in without any delay. I have sensitive knees and I hate to ride uphill with my seat too low. With this seatpost I don't have to compromise my knees or my riding. I'm hooked. Rachael Lopes IMBA Crew
-"I've been using th GravityDropper post now for a couple months and I'm really digging it. Here on the east coast, we get lots of short gnarly downhills, and having the ability to drop the post while riding makes those section so much easier. I didn't think I'd use it as much as I do... I might be addicted" David Alden, cycling columnist, MetroSports Boston magazine
-I have been riding, and I enjoy the dropper even more than I thought I would. It is so enjoyable to not have to get off the bike and re-adjust the saddle every time you want to huck or wheelie. I would recommend it to any free-rider, professional or not. Thanks for a good product. RW Cannon, New York
"I'm 230 lbs and 6'2 and ride a cross section of downhill / freeride / cross country here on the we(s)t coast of B.C. With that type of weight and height combined with a no cartilage knee I found that the 'GravityDropper' seat post improved my riding tenfold! Pedalling with the seat down on my freeride bike causes immense pain but doing verticals with the seat up with my big / high geometry got me a lot of frequent flyer miles over the handlebars. GravityDropper nailed the problem with their solution. I'll have one on all my bikes---can't do without it. The best bike technology since the Rohloff hub! Thanx Wayne and Arlen---a fantastic product" Doug Lockhart, BC Canada
-"The GravityDropper is a well thought out, precision crafted bicycle component with a purpose. Other than looking good, It will give you added control and increased confidence when going down steep hills and over big drops. I am not saying that you will never go over the handle bars again, but I can assure you that the occurrence will be greatly reduced." Dan Kopec- Arizona
-"I was planning to get a new bike as the trails here in Phoenix were too technical for my 3 inch XC racer. After buying the GravityDropper, I no longer need to get a new bike! The GravityDropper makes the trails fun! Starting on steep hill is also easy, as the seat is not in the way. Thanks Wayne" Mark Christiani, Arizona
Hi, I amd Frank Ziegler from Germany and I got the Gravitydropper last week. It's a very cool part and it works fantastic. I can drive now do hills I have never done before. Frank Ziegler, Germany
Hi Wayne, I hope all is well with you and GravityDropper! The GravityDropper is great for cross country rides, it really lets you slam any kind of downhill section. It took me a while to get to where I was using it intuitively (like when approaching a drop off) but now that I got the hang of it I don't like riding without it. That said, I could use more travel. Can you adjust my post's travel to 4 or 5 inches or tell me how to do it? I do want to get another one eventually because I do switch it between a couple of bikes. A second one might be ok at 3 inches for xc but I think 4 or 5 inches of travel for freeride/super d type riding would really be sweet. Thanks for an awesome post that I don't like to ride without! Jermaine Brown, CA
- I just bought a GravityDropper for a trip out west. The rocks, drops, cliffs, etc at Moab and Bootleg Canyon scare me to the point that I spend way too much time walking the bike. The GravityDropper took the edge off the difficult areas of the trails. I am happy I bought it. I used it for 9 days in a row an never had a problem. Randy Merren, MI
-I am an expert cross country racer. I can't believe how often I use the thing. I will often raise and lower 100 times in a 2 hr race. It makes sense going down steep downhill's, and technical stuff, but I have found that I will lower the seat on turns that I come into with speed even if the turn is flat. I can make the turns faster and with more control. Now I just need to get in shape! The Gravitydropper improves your riding and gives you more confidence as well as control. Wayne Sicz (inventor of GravityDropper)
"For those that have never lowered their seat, the GravityDropper will double your technical skills in 3 minutes" Rod Yates, Utah
Your creation works great! I did get it installed and it fits perfectly. Thank you very much for your help. I will definitely recommend it to my friends! Your invention has changed the way I ride! Thank you onece again for sharing your incredible invention. Jose Luis Ruelas, California
-The GravityDropper is awesome. It does exactly what they claim by giving you more confidence and control of the challenging downhill sections. I've only had it a few weeks and I know that my riding has improved. But one of the greatest things about GravityDropper is how it feels on tight singletrack. Putting you lower to the ground on those tight turns is like being in a sports car. Curtis Box, Texas
"The thing works!!"Ryan Brueggeman, Montana
"After years of riding my mountain bike in all terrain with a seat at full height, I wasn't sure the GravityDropper was necessary. After one ride though, I rediscovered what downhillers already know. A lower seat makes for faster times!" Jake Hartsoch, Washington
"When I stop on the trail, rather than have to stand on my tiptoes, I lower that seat down and it is much more comfortable." Ryan Brueggeman, Montana
"I LOVE THIS POST!!! Hi, it Tyson Swasey from Moab Utah. You sent me a GravityDropper and I have been riding it for about 2 weeks and love it. It is the ultimate for riding in Moab and especially handy on slickrock. You drop it on the fast downhills and hit the bottom and immediately pop it up. Tyson Swasey,Utah
Imagine you are about to go down that nasty sketchy near vertical drop into your favourite descent. Now your bike may have adjustable travel or lock out at both ends, but wouldn't you rather be able to drop your seat post down 3ins at the flick of a lever, well now you can. This new seatpost from Gravitydropper does just that. It fits on the bike like a conventional seat post, but flick the neat little bar mounted lever and sit on the saddle and down it goes, release the lever and it locks down in place. Do the same again and it pops back up. With putting your saddle down now as easy as changing gear, you do it more often, and with the extra confidence this gives you, all sorts of technical riding becomes much more fun. The only downside is a little extra weight (450g claimed including cable and lever). The post is 350mm long, has an inline clamp and comes in either 26.8 or 27.2 with shims to fit all other sizes. The neat little lever mounts on the left underneath the bars, or on the right above depending on your choice of shifters. The whole set up has been 100% reliable so far and considering the current exchange rate is not as expensive as you might think. This could be the biggest leap forward since riser bars. Andy Grant, United Kingdom, Pictures by BFG 4/04 Climb up a steep grade and then go down a chute that uses are the suspension on the ID. Up and down and never had to stop. Plus it makes me a better, more confident rider. Bruce Jocobs, New Jersey
